It’s Almost Here! Book Your Ticket for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2024!

People often ask us, when is the best time to visit Walt Disney World? Any time - and every time - is the best time to visit Walt Disney World (or Disneyland, or EPCOT, or Animal Kingdom or…well, you get it.)

But for those with special interests (like our foodie friends, or marathoners, or our gardening buffs) or those with particular attachments to joyous (and theatrical) holidays like Halloween or Christmas, there are a few brass ring events to shoot for.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is an event we recommend to anyone who wants to add a little extra sparkle to an already magical vacation. This special event is available to ticket holders only, and each year tickets sell out faster and faster. Read on to learn more and be sure to get yours when they’re released this spring!

Running from August through Halloween each year, this is a can’t miss for anyone who loves Halloween - or simply loves fall fun.

Inside Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Each August, Disney uses their own particular brand of magic to transform the park into an autumn scene so charming you’ll think you’ve fallen into, well, a Disney film. Halloween touches abound, with jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins and ghosts at every turn (you can even grab a seat on a hay bale beside a mickey-shaped arrangement of mums; I mean, does it get any better than that?)

You’ll find characters from all of your favorite Halloween-themed films, not to mention villains at every turn, and of course, all the classic Disney characters decked out in their Halloween best. There are a number of character meetings exclusive to the event - like Jack Skellington and Sally, who will be available for a meet and greet in Town Square Theater (you’ll need a party wristband, and be prepared to wait.)

You’re invited to get in on the fun, too. During the other 9 months of the year, wearing costumes in the park is typically restricted to kids. But at MNSSHP, go big or…well, don’t stay home, but definitely consider coming in costume. It really does add to the fun, in an already magical atmosphere.

Kids receive their own MNSSHP trick or treat bag and are set loose to trick or treat at every attraction throughout the park! Warning: neighborhood trick or treating will never be the same.

Never fear, grown up kids at heart: there are plenty of treats for you, too.

Snacks, Entrees, Treats & Desserts at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Food has become an increasingly important part of the Disney event experience, with Disney upping the ante every year to produce ever more gourmet goodies, making the Halloween party a desirable destination for fun lovers and food lovers alike.

Each year, Disney rolls out exclusive snacks, entrees, drinks, and desserts exclusive to MNSSHP. The 2023 event featured everything from Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls and Minnie-shaped pumpkin cheesecakes to a Cajun-spiced burger topped with fried green tomatoes and remoulade sauce; candy corn milkshakes; char siu chicken wings, and a crispy chicken sandwich drenched in hot honey, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño poppers, and bacon - and those are just a handful of the offerings available.

Songs, Shows & More! Entertainment at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

One of the highlights of the Halloween party for us is the stage show. It is absolutely the can’t-miss part of the event, especially if you’re a Hocus Pocus fan, as we are.

MNSSHP’s celebratory itinerary includes three main events:

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks

Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Stage Show.

The parade and fireworks are Halloween-themed versions of the parades you love but with a spooky, holiday twist (we’re partial to the part where the ghosts of the Haunted Mansion waltz on by - and did we mention that Jack Skellington hosts the fireworks show?) You’ll also have a spine-chilling firsthand look at the Headless Horseman - the only time you’ll ever run into him outside Sleepy Hollow (or want to.)

The parade is also your chance to see the Sanderson Sisters up close before they head off to prepare for the evening’s stage spectacular (spoiler: it WILL put a spell on you.)

The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Stage Show is offered at multiple showtimes, right in front of Cinderella’s Castle, making it easy to see the fun. Featuring a cadre of Disney Villains, it is headlined by none other than the Sanderson girls themselves, and features Winifred belting out your favorite spooky tunes from the movie and beyond.

Park Attendance, Ticket Prices, and other Things to Know About Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

As we’ve noted, this event does come with its own ticket - it is not available with your Magic Kingdom ticket or Park Hopper option. However, purchasing an event ticket to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party does give you access to Magic Kingdom for up to 3 hours before the party gets started. MNSSHP itself runs from 6 pm to midnight.

If you already have admission for the park on the day of the party, you can pick up your wristband in Tomorrowland amid your park fun.

It’s also important to note that the party is not held every day of the season. Last year the party dates were August 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29; September 1, 4, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29; October 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31; and November 1. We predict that the 2024 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will start on or around August 9, 2024.

Ticket prices for the 2024 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will likely range from $125 to $225 depending upon the date you attend.
